"Are you serious?!?!?"





So today's workout literally had me on the ground after I was done as you can see to the left. 
However, it was a good time and I am really proud of myself for getting through it. I think that I could have gotten in one more full round so that will be my goal for the next time. 
Warm up: 2 rounds 15 situps, 15 dislocates, 15 overhead squats, 15 pushups, samson stretch

Rounds in 20 minutes
250 Meter row
10 side chops each arm, 20lb dumbbell
10 single arm push press each arm, 20lb dumbbell
5 rounds+250 meter row + 8 side chops

Skateboarding





A couple of weekends ago I got a new longboard skateboard. I got my husband one for Christmas but now we can go skateboarding together. Last Saturday we went downtown and to our favorite coffee shop. 
Today went to Riverbend Park and to our friends house and basically all over town. So here are some pics from our adventure.

Pretty stoked I cut a little over 2 minutes off of this work out 12:26 the last time I did it!!
It was a struggle for me on the thrusters this time, I think that I did something to my wrist on accident. So I am thinking that I will take a break from a regular workout tomorrow and go on a bike ride or something fun like that.

Hey Buddy!!

So this weekend Santos and I went down to Roseville and hung out with some of his friends from high school who we are still pretty close to. It was a great time. We also got a new skateboard for me so that he and I could cruise around town together! We went all over the place!
Then Easter Sunday was a good morning at church followed by dinner that evening. Not your traditional meal but we had tri-tip, creamed spinach, and salad. Not really zone either but it was still good.

Dips

Totally worked out yesterday morning but I forgot what the workout was. 

So this morning's workout consisted of
 5 rds 
20 asst. dips
12 kb 26 lbs snatches (6 each arm)
My time is written down in the other room but I am to lazy at this point in the evening to care about getting it written down in here. 

Then there was lots of ab work, turkish sit ups and med ball tosses and all that fun stuff.

Monday Monday


So it has been a good 3 days since I have worked out... FYI this is a bad idea. Then everyone and then mother mowed their lawn near my home so as I was starting my workout which was going to be once a round the block, 25 kb swings, 25 dball slams, around the block, 20, 20, block, 15, 15, block, 10, 10, block, 5, 5 however, I started breathing in a way that was not from the workout and needed to stop after third run. I just started my allergy meds today so hopefully I can come back and try this workout again later this week because it is really disappointing when you can not finish that which you started. 

In the end today's workout looked something like this:
Warm up - 2 rds 15 push ups, 15 dislocates, 15 sit ups, 15 squats and 200 jumprope jumps
once around the block 25 swings, 25 slams, around the block, 20, 20 and once around the block.
Next (after a substantial break to get my breathing back) 3 rounds of 8 deadlifts at 85lbs.
3 rounds of 3 turkish getups on each arm with 3 windmills at the top.
3 rounds of 12 at 25 lbs. dumbbell rows. Below are the pics from today's workout. 
Finished the day off with fajitas. yum yum!!

We don't own a washer and dryer

Dinner tonight was mashed Cauliflower with cheese and porkchops with onion, spinach, mushrooms, garlic and salsa. mmmmm good. 

As you can see from the pics I wore the same thing yesterday when I worked out. 
Today's workout consisted of 
Bench press
45 lbs x 15, 15 
65 lbs x 8,8,8,8,8 (going up next time) This is much better then the last time I did this last week.

The next picture is single arm dumbbell rows
25 lbs x 8, 8, 8 each arm.

Looking forward to how I will be feeling tomorrow. My workout partner was my hubbie today as my friend Rhonda might be getting sick!! I would rather do a crossfit workout then the strength stuff but that is ok. peace!

Fun with Boxes


Today's workout was a hob glob of different movements.

We started out with our warm up which usually includes the following:
2 rds
15 ab mat sit ups
15 elevated box pushups working on full ROM - see picture below.
15 back extensions
15 dislocates
Samson stretch

Workout
3 sets of 15 dip assist
3 sets of 20 kettlebell lung
Single leg kettlebell deadlifts single arm - 2 sets of 7
Single leg kettlebell deadlifts double arms - 2 sets of seven





In other thoughts, summer is coming and even at 8 in the morning our front room is starting to feel warm before we even get started working out. So in honor of summer I made a big thing of Iced tea which I am sure will only last through today and I will need to make more tonight, but it is on of my favorite things to enjoy on a hot summer day and it will be great after a long hard workout. "The Beach Muscle Work Out"


Top picture is from the workout today and the bottom one is obviously from when I got married. It has no relevance to this post today but I liked it so I thought that I would share it.


Per my husband we follow a 90/10 workout model 

90% of the time we are doing full body functional movements
10% of the time we do isolation movements
So today he had me barbell bench-press
15 reps at 15 lbs
10 reps at 35 lbs
10 reps at 45 lbs
8 reps at 65 lbs
6 +1 reps at 65 lbs
5 +1 reps at 65 lbs
Followed by 4 sets of 20 dumbbell curls with 15 lb dumbbells

On a side note I am very excited that I am going to be starting Shane Claibourne's new book Jesus for President. I read his last book Irresistible Revolution and loved it so hopefully I will not be disappointed with his next.

30 knees to elbows on the floor (15 each side)

on my second round I did the plank for 1 minute and 2 seconds

Followed by a non-zone mexican dinner and dessert.

Weekend in SD

Santos and I went down south this weekend to go to a friend's wedding and to hang out with friends. We were pretty proud of ourselves on the way down because we stuck fast to eating healthy and did not stop for fast food on the way down. 
We took 99 because we stayed at my grandmother's house in Modesto Thursday night. On the way down there was a minor traffic jam and we saw this bus that was totally perpendicular to the road. 
We started out in Newport beach and went to a wedding on a boat. Kimmie was beautiful. I also got to see my best friend Katie and her boyfriend James. 

That night we went and stayed with one of Santos' client in Laguna then we had breakfast at the Sapphire http://www.sapphirellc.com/     Laguna AMAZING food and the view was beautiful. I had forgotten how much I miss being able to see the ocean every day!! 
Santos loved playing with Dave's remote control helicopters.




That night we went and meet up with our friends Dave and Stephanie in Del Mar and went to downtown San Diego to watch UFC 82 where Silva rocked Henderson it was beautiful. 



All in all it was a great trip and we are looking forward to our next one!
